Hmm, well since I’ve created an entire site around the company and it’s products I bet you can guess how I’m going to weigh in on this subject.
The big question that most people who find this article will ask will be “Is Visalus Legitimate?”. Which is usually just a way of asking whether or not they are putting themselves or their cash at risk by joining.
What I can tell you, from experience, is this. In January of 2009 I lost my very cool job as a Recruiter for a video game company in Vancouver, BC. I loved that job and losing it was brutal.
At the same time I was negotiating the end of my 17 year marriage.
So fun all around!
I gained 30lbs in 18 months! No joke. It was brutal. I will admit that there may have been a few too many ciders and a few too few sit ups but the fact remained that the over-production of stress hormone coupled with my genetically pre-disposed Irish famine protection lead me to pack on the weight…fast!
I was so mad at myself. I present a very strong facade but my dumb body was not backing up what I was saying to all my friends and family; that I was just fine and dealing well.
I stopped running because the additional weight made running really tough. That was probably the icing on the cake (mmmm, cake) because running was what always kept my weight in check.
Since I wasn’t running I lost my #1 stress reliever. Oh boy, things were spiraling quickly.
Thankfully I have a natural ability to keep focused on the things that important so I was able to find a fantastic job that allowed me to work from home. But the weight got in the way of that because as focused as I was, the fact that I thought I looked horrible was always creeping into my brain via that little voice. Annoying little voice!
I knew there had to be an answer to the weight loss out there somewhere. Since I was online everyday anyway I turned to the internet to find it.
I looked at a lot of diets. I searched for things like “lose that pesky 30lbs” or “only a bit to lose” (i thought 30 was only a little weight compared to the people out there with 100lbs to lose.<
I wanted to find something that would help me lose weight and also improve my health. Not that I was particularly unhealthy, I just knew I wasn't optimal.

Great post! I had started piling on a few extra pounds before I got pregnant, but wow – pregnancy turned into a food free-for-all! Then, as a new Mom, I rarely put in the effort to eat well and as often too exhausted to exercise! Just past my son’s first birthday I decided enough was enough, and got really serious about getting in shape. Six months later, I’ve lost 52 lbs! I’m definitely the “fittest” I’ve ever been, even if I’d like to get down a few more sizes – 6, here I come! It’s been really hard work, but supremely rewarding. I hope you get to help a lot of people get to where they want to be!
