Ever try to figure out which diet is right for you? You read through a million testimonials and watch a bunch of videos. You search online to make sure the company is reputable. You ask your friends what’s worked for them.
How do you know what’s going to work? You’re going to have to invest some money up front and every testimonial you read states “results not typical”. Yikes!
Lucky for you I’ve not only found something that seems to work for just about everyone, I’ve researched the science behind it too.
Ok, ok, I know that sounds a bit like a pitch and although I do make a darned good living selling this product it’s only because I can stack it up against all the other diets out there and have it come out on top for price, nutritional content and business opportunity.
I thought since I’ve already done all the research that I would put together this series of articles where I compare the product I sell to everyone else.
All claims in this article have been substantiated by 3 party sources and do not just come directly from one company or the other.
In this installment we’ll compare Visalus Sciences to Nutrisystem and see how they rate.
Let’s start with the component that seems to determine how long people stick with a product:
Nutrisystem consists of heat and eat pre-packaged meals that are portion controlled and shipped to your door. They look a bit like astronaut food but are very convenient, especially if you’re a super busy person.
The negative with the pre-packaged stuff is that it’s pretty high in sodium (to make it taste better) and most people tire of the food in an average of 9.5 weeks.
There is very little fresh food on the Nutrisystem but you are allowed to add some fruits and vegies if you wish.
Visalus is a shake system. The shakes taste great and there is a variety of flavours that you can use to customize your shake. Visalus also encourages you to add your favourite fruits to your 2 shakes a day in order to give you lots of healthy fibre.
You can customize the shakes to your tastes and with an infinite number of options the chances of getting bored are pretty slim. (ha ha get is? “slim”)
Nutrisystem is based on the glycemic index. Foods are chosen and portioned out in a way that is meant to keep your blood sugar at a consistent level throughout the day. By not spiking your blood sugar with high carb meals you do not shock your system into wanting more food once those levels drop.
You have to work the system consistently and stay away from any “cheats” that will derail your progress.
Throughout the day you eat 3 meals and 2 snacks to keep everything nice and level. The entire day consists of between 1200 and 1500 calories. 55% of those calories are from carbs, 25% from proteins and 20% from fats.
Each Visalus shake consists of:
Total Fat: 1 g
Total Cholesterol: 15 mg
Total Sodium: 75 mg
Total Carbohydrates: 7g
Total Dietary Fiber: 5 g
Total Sugars: <1 g
Total Protein: 12 g
Vi shakes have far fewer calories, fat, cholesterol, sodium, sugars and are much lower in carbohydrates.
The Vi-shape shake is suitable for diabetics because it has only 1 gram of sugar, and just 7 grams of carbohydrates per serving.
PRICE (the big factor for many)
Nutrisystem has a deal where you buy 3 weeks and get the 4th for free. The cost breaks down to $293.72 for 5 weeks worth of food. Which is a little over $3/meal.
Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake is $59 for a 30-serving supply. However you can get it for $49 month if you choose to get join their auto-ship program. That works out to be just $1.67 a meal for the Vi-Shape meal replacement Shake.
ViSalus has a referral program for customers as well. When you refer 3 customers to buy the Vi-shake mix, you get yours free the next month.
Ok, so it looks like Visalus is the WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION! of the diet comparison game.
